Noble House Hotels & Resorts Announces Chef Erik Nitsche As Executive Chef At Kona Kai Resort & Marina

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Nov. 18, 2013 – Situated on the very tip of Shelter Island,
Kona Kai Resort & Marina and its newly opened signature restaurant, Vessel,
welcome Erik Nitsche as executive chef. Boasting more than 20 years of
experience in the culinary world, Chef Erik Nitsche joins the food and beverage
team from Six Seven at the Edgewater Hotel, one of Seattle’s most iconic
properties.

“We’re extremely excited to welcome Chef Erik to Kona Kai Resort &
Marina and to be keeping him in the Noble House family,” said Joe St. Laurent,
general manager for the resort. “With his passion and enthusiasm for regional
cuisine and authentic flavors, Chef Erik is a perfect fit.”
Prior to his role as executive sous chef at the Edgewater Hotel’s Six Seven
Restaurant, Chef Erik had worked in many notable kitchens; first in Australia and
later in the Pacific Northwest, including O/8 at the Grand Hyatt. His initial
introduction to Northwestern cuisine was at The Space Needle’s restaurant
Skycity, under the watchful eye of Chef Dan Thiessen.

When it comes to creating legendary dishes, Chef Nitsche prefers to let the
land and sea dictate taste. With a profound dedication to seasonality and local
sourcing, Chef Nitsche is thrilled with the abundance of readily available fresh
