Cabana Rentals

Resort Day Passes
Locals can experience Kona Kai luxury with a relaxing daycation. Reserve one of our resort day passes to enjoy the heated waterfront pool, hot tub, private beach and beach cabanas while taking in breathtaking marina views. Passes are available from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and include complimentary parking for up to eight hours.

Yes. The resort sells day passes to locals through ResortPass, and a pass covers the heated waterfront pool, the hot tub, the private beach and the beach cabanas. Passes run from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and include complimentary parking for up to eight hours. SpaTerre also has a Local Insider package that pairs a 50-minute Noble House Massage with a resort day pass for two, which you book by calling 619.819.8154 and showing a state-issued ID on arrival. Either way you are on the same 11 acres as overnight guests.
There are two, and they sit side by side on the marina. The Tiki Pool is the family-friendly one, with the Tiki Bar & Grill open daily from 11:00 am until dusk. The Paloma Pool is adults-only for guests 21 and over, with Paloma Drink and Eats open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am until dusk and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Both pools are open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Poolside food and drink service depends on the weather.
Yes. Private pool cabanas can be reserved from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm at either the family-friendly Tiki Pool or the adults-only Paloma Pool, and each one comes with reserved lounge chairs, a flat-screen television, Wi-Fi, bottled water, snacks and fresh towels. Upgrades add alcoholic beverages and a credit toward dining. Resort guests receive 20% off cabana rentals through the amenities fee. Beach cabanas work differently and are first-come, first-served. Every evening the fire pits on the private beach are lit, with Adirondack chairs pulled around them and s’mores kits available at the front desk at 25% off with the resort amenities fee. During the day there is bean bag toss, sandcastle building, and an assortment of lawn, beach and board games. The beach sits on San Diego Bay and is set up for time beside the water rather than in it: direct water access is not permitted there by the Port of San Diego because of vessel traffic in the La Playa Yacht Basin. Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
Day passes are booked through ResortPass and run from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, and they include the heated waterfront pool, the hot tub, the private beach, beach cabanas and complimentary parking for up to eight hours. Kona Kai Resort & Spa sits on 11 acres at the tip of Shelter Island in Point Loma, with a private beach on San Diego Bay, two marina-front pools and a full-service spa, so a pass gives San Diego locals the resort’s waterfront without an overnight stay.
