Our private beach does not provide access to the water as it hosts the Kona Kai Marina. The beach area is best enjoyed for lounging, walking, and sitting by the fire pits for s’mores.

We are less than 10 minutes away from the airport.

The minimum age for check-in is 18 years old. Guests must provide valid ID and payment at the time of check-in.

Pets are not allowed on the beach area. There are walking paths around the resort and Skyline Park across from the resort available for walking your pet.

Service animals are welcome throughout the resort with identification. However, pets are not allowed in the pool area. Per ADA, emotional support animals are not considered service animals.

Kona Kai is a non-smoking property. Patio smoking is prohibited. The closest smoking location is across the street at Shoreline Park. A minimum cleaning and fumigation fee of $250 may be assessed if the non-smoking policy is violated.

We do not have a shuttle service but can arrange transportation via taxi upon request. We also encourage Uber/Lyft as they are very common in San Diego.

The Marina Office is located by the Wellness Center and by the entrance of A–F Dock.

The hold for incidentals is $100 per day on your credit/debit card. This amount is released at check-out and takes roughly 3–5 business days to appear back on your account.

The resort fee is $48 per day plus applicable fees. It covers:

Kona Kai San Diego offers self-parking at a daily price of $48 with unlimited ins and outs.

Our standard check-out time is 11:00 AM. After check-out, guests are welcome to store their luggage and continue enjoying the resort amenities. Late check-out may be available for an additional charge of $25 until 12:00 PM, $100 until 2:00 PM, and $200 until 4:00 PM. Departures after 4:00 PM are considered a full day room rate.

Our guaranteed check-in time is 4:00 PM. Early check-in may be accommodated based on availability for an additional charge of $50 for arrivals prior to 2:00 PM and $25 for arrivals between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Guests are welcome to enjoy the resort upon arrival and our team will store your luggage until your room is ready.
